Notes from Planning Meeting - Northwest Area Chapter

May 17, 2015

TO:  Northwest Area Chapter Presidents, National Directors, and Alternate National Directors

FROM:  Kathie Balogh, FMCA - Northwest Area President

Having just returned from the Executive Board Meetings in Cincinnati and the April Planning Meetings at the Mill there are a few items that I would like to share with you and your Chapter Members.  Please share this information with them.

We are happy to announce we will be having all ONSITE PARKING for the Coos Bay Rally at the Mill Hotel & Casino.  It was originally thought that we would have to use an off site area for dry camping; as some of the Mill Property was being used as a port.  However, we were able to obtain enough of the area for our needs.  More registrations continue to come in daily.  Hope to see you all at the rally!  At this time, I would like to thank all the captains and volunteers for all their hard work!  If any Captain would like to send out any announcements or information to the members, please send them to Karen Pratt at the email address below.  We will have a great time!!!!

Due to FMCA computer conversion, any Chapters wishing to get the New Member List, which is still not available electronically, can email Christy Budai atcbudai@fmca.com and request a list.  You must be patient as she has to go thru the New Member List and pick out the members in your area, so it is a bit time consuming.

Speaking of the computer system, when we were in Cincinnati; things are looking up and it shouldn’t be too long before we will be better than before with the information on the website.

Encourage your members to call FMCA RV Insurance to get a quote.  Even if they don't need insurance, it is good to compare!  If they get a quote, FMCA receives $10 per quote.  The Phone Number is 877-589-3599 or go online at www.fmcarvinsurance.com

The following offices for the Northwest Area are up for election at our September Meeting in Bonney Lake  - Senior Vice President, Vice President and Secretary.  The following people have submitted resumes for the positions:

    Senior Vice President - Kent Pratt
    Vice President - Judy Lehenbauer, Dennis Martin and Jim McBride
    Secretary - Karen Pratt

The Nominating Committee is still accepting nominations.  For more information, please contact Fred Royce, Nominating Committee Chairperson atfhroyce@olypen.com

Hopefully all your Treasurers have filed their 1040 EZ tax return.  If not, Barbara Schleuse, NWA Treasurer, will be getting a notice of those who are delinquent.  If you need help, please email Barbara at dons2346@yahoo.com and she will be happy to help you!

Just a reminder, please ask your Newsletter Editors to send Newsletters and Rally Schedules to our Secretary, Karen Pratt, for posting on the web site.  Also, following your Annual Meeting with elections, the Secretary needs to send the Chapter Certification to FMCA with a copy to Karen Pratt, NWA Secretary.  Karen's email address is:  karenkprtt@aol.com

Our Fall Planning Meeting will be held at Bonney Lake, WA. Sept. 22-24, 2015.  Bud Fouts has agreed to cater our meals again, but would like some menu suggestions.  Any suggestions that anyone has for planning meeting meals are welcome.   We would also like ideas for activities for after dinner.  Please send these suggestions for meals and activities to our Secretary, Karen Pratt at the email above.

Madison, 92nd Family Reunion -  We are still looking for Temporary Delegates to represent chapters and anyone travelling to Madison is encouraged to email Karen and the email address above.  This is an election year and there are many things to be voted on.  Mark your calendars----  July 29 – August 1, 2015.

Enjoy the nice weather and travel happy & safe!!!

Happy New Year to all you Vancouver Islanders!

I know you are probably still enjoying your winter, but it’s time to start thinking about our beautiful spring, summer and fall on Vancouver Island.

Three rallies have been secured for this season. One more is still in the works, but hasn’t been finalized.

     May 21 - 24 Cowichan Exhibition Grounds, Duncan;

     July 2 - 6 Alberni Fairgrounds, Alberni;

     September 14 - 18 Seal Bay RV and Campground, Courtenay.

We are looking for Rally Hosts for each of the events.  This doesn't have to be just one person doing the whole thing.  A couple or group makes it easier and more fun.  Jump in and help get the party started!

Happy travels,

Barbara Lucas
