Sandy's Scribbles

June 29, 2009

Hello everyone,

Wayne and I have just returned from a great rally in Comox this past weekend. Our weather was more like spring than June, but we did get some sunshine, so it was good. We had 16 rigs attend and we all decided that it was the perfect amount. Liz and George McAllister did an excellent job as Rally Hosts. They organized and prepared 6 wonderful meals, including a lunch on Friday, before a few brave souls set out for the Woodland Gardens. Jim Forbes provided musical entertainment for the group on Friday evening and many of us even enjoyed dancing. Jim had a hard time stopping, as most of the campground came over to enjoy the music and dancing as well, and no one wanted to quit having fun. Saturday, the majority of us went to the Griffin Pub for lunch which is always a good time. Saturday evening we had the draws for door prizes provided by Peden RV, Arbutus RV and Brooke Williams. Lawn carpet, a reclining chair and a propane campfire were some of the very generous gifts. Also, never to be forgotten were the fancy shoes re-gifted by Brooke Williams. Winners of the Ken Williams award were Norm and Nora Winters. During the 3 days of the rally a very challenging and competitive Scavenger Hunt was enjoyed by most. First prize winners were Betty Dyer and Audrey Hauge, with everyone receiving a gift for participation. As we were packing and cleaning up, I heard several remarks made to Liz and George that it was a FUN rally. Job well done! Thank you again to the McAllisters.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that annual dues are payable before or at the first rally of the current year. The following names are paid up members for 2009.
