COWICHAN BAY – August 9 – 12, 2012 (See Details in Previous Post, July 25, below)

NOTE: If you have paid a deposit of $25.00 for this rally, the balance is due before August 24, 2012. NO REFUNDS if cancelled after August 27, 2012

Cowichan Rally August 9th, 10th & 11th.
Laurel has decided to host the rally in Cowichan Bay, Westcan Pier, and the Schur's have offered her assistance with cooking and planning of the menu. Laurel has decided to keep it the Redneck theme that Sandy had chosen.
We have come up with some fun games, quizzes, and delicious foods.
The cost of the rally will still be $75.00 with $30.00 dollars of it going to parking. They also require $50.00 for garbage for the weekend.Which I will figure out from the remaining $45 depending on how many coaches we get. Cheques to be sent to Audrey Hague by the cut off date.
The cut off date, and we mean, the cutoff date is August 3rd. With the food we are planning I need the time for any extra's we made need.
Arrive at Cowichan, Westcan Terminal,(see map below), on the 9th of August after 11am.
Some of the foods planned
2 breakfasts
1 continental breakfast
3 dinners [with 2 of the dinners being contributing dinners]
Events
- 1 trivia and one Speak like a redneck contest.
- Watermelon seed spitting contest, [unless seeded watermelon cannot be found then sunflower or pumpkin seeds will be used]
- Spam carving contest, contestants will be required to bring their own Spam or canned luncheon meat.I will have a few cans on hand.
- Best dressed Redneck for a man and woman do not have to be a couple. We will do a vote, Wayne and I will decided on 3 of each gender and then everyone will be given ballots.
- Can races [like the reindeer races or horse races but using favorite beverages]
- Would also like to have a recycled art contest people making things that are useful or artistic out of items that have been recycled or that would be thrown out.They can work on them at the rally or bring them already made from home.
- Maryann Tenant is going to give a demo on making Redneck wine glasses, we will ask that people bring their own pint widemouth jars and candlesticks, we will have the glue and sandpaper required.
- I will give specific details of all meals and what people are to bring by August 4th when I have the count, and perhaps someone could help with the direction part to the dock.
